Decline in the ceramic sector in Morbi! 100 factories closed on New Year’s Eve

Reduction in daily consumption of Gujarat gas by 8 lakh cubic meters and LPG gas consumption by 10 lakh cubic meters per day

Morbi: The ceramic industry of Morbi, the second largest in the world, Vikram Sawant 2080 New Year did not bear fruit, on the contrary, around 100 ceramic units were shut down on the eve of the new year and the daily consumption of Gujarat gas is 8 lakh cubic meters and LPG gas consumption is 10 lakh cubic meters. A cloud of worry has hung over the declining ceramic industries.

The ceramic industry of Morbi, the world’s second-largest with a domestic and international turnover of 60 thousand crores a year, has had to face the recession after the coronavirus epidemic, after the demand in the domestic market has fallen, the ceramic industry of Morbi is relying on exports, but now after Diwali in the international market. But with the demand reaching the bottom, in the new year of Vikram Samvat 2080, the ceramic industries have been hit by a recession instead of a boni.

According to Morbi Ceramic Association President Hareshbhai Bopalia and Mukeshbhai Kundaria, there was hope for good business in the opening after Diwali, but due to low demand in the domestic and international market, out of 825 ceramic units in the Morbi cluster, about 100 units have closed down. Hareshbhai Bopaliya further adds that pre-Diwali Gujarat Gas’s average daily consumption of pipeline gas in Morbi was 40 lakh cubic meters which has now come down to 32 lakh cubic metres. Similarly, LPG gas consumption in Morbi was also 40 lakh cubic meters per day which has also decreased to 30 lakh cubic meters per day which is witnessing a slowdown.

It is to be mentioned that Morbi Ceramic Association President Hareshbhai Boplia said that wall tiles units are most affected by this recession in Morbi Ceramic Industries, along with vitrified, floor, and other segments, industrialists are also facing recession and slowdown in domestic as well as international market. He said at the end.
